Singer-Songwriter and Business Tycoon, Irishman Niall Horan
He began life as a humble Irish lad from the town of Mullingar and became an internationals teenage pop singing sensation with the group One Direction, and has gone on to a solo career that has almost eclipsed that success. And he never had to change his name!
He was the only Irish-born member of the boy band One Direction. Niall James Horan was born on September 13, 1993 in Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland. This town is located in the midlands of Ireland about an hour or so from Dublin. It has a beautiful big lake for fishing and boating along with a gorgeous golf course and the town was named after a miracle by St. Colman of Lynn. Niall has an elder brother and his name is Greg. Horan’s parents, Bobby Horan and Maura Gallagher, divorced when he was only five years old, and he and his brother lived with their mother for about a year after the divorce. The two boys were then reunited with their father whom raised them as Roman Catholic and whom remained with them through their early years. Some say children of divorce develop illnesses and Horan did develop childhood asthma during this time.
Young Horan’s entertainment career began when he was discovered in 2010, at the age of 16 where Niall entered and made it onto the X Factor tv show. He sang ‘I’m Yours’ and ‘So Sick’ at his audition, and got through to the next round. While at rehearsals, he and Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik were arranged together as a band, thus became One Direction.
As the lad grew up in Ireland, Horan attended St. Kenny National School, where he rehearsed and acted in school productions and was a natural in the school choir. He attended secondary school at Coláiste Mhuire (Mary’s College), which is also in Mullingar. Horan was a stand out in football as well as Gaelic football. As a teen Horan performed at the Mullingar Arts Centre (in a fund-raiser for the local football team, the Shamrocks) along with The Academy in Dublin.
Niall Horan’s hit songs in order as reported from Billboard:

• Nice To Meet Ya
• Too Much To Ask

Personal & Business
Horan has been romantically linked to several eligible young Hollywood starlets and singers but since 2020 he seems to have found the magic tonic in a long term relationship with girlfriend Amelia Woolley. Both have been seen out and about together, with their images splashed across the tabloids while attending a Harry Styles concert, at a Masters Golf tournament or on the sidelines at an F1 Grand Prix race. Woolley herself is a young and successful marketing and advertising executive currently with Budweiser UK.
Niall Horan also served as a coach on The Voice U.S. during seasons 23 and 24, and he won each season. And in 2019 he proved he has a knack for the theatrical while co-hosting with Scarlett Johansson on Saturday Night Live.
Horan has always made room for his golf habit, and so in 2016 he co-founded Modest! Golf Management with partner Mark McDonnell where their team of marketing experts from London and Los Angeles offices look after a number of golf’s hot players and upcoming prospects.
Regarding why he hasn’t tattooed his body, Horan said “All the lads have screws on them. I’m just too scared to do it.” Saying he’s “never felt the need.”
Charity
Horan helped to raise over $800,000 dollars at a charity event for cancer research attaching his name to professional golfer Justin Rose at an event dubbed “Horan & Rose Gala“, hosted at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, England.
Horan lives in London, he stands 5’7″ tall, has sea blue eyes, natural brown hair and keeps physically and mentally fit through daily workouts to help maintain his six pack abs and keep a long ago knee issue at bay. As of 2024 Mr. Horan, through business and entertainment ventures has amassed a $70 million fortune. Horan is also godfather to his nephew, Theo Horan.
