Orla Brady Irish Film Star

Orla Brady is an Irish actress who has gained worldwide recognition for her work in film, television, and theater. She was born on March 28, 1961, in Bray, Wicklow, Ireland. Brady studied acting at the Ecole Phillippe Gaulier in Paris. Upon returning to Dublin, she won the role of Adela in the House of Bernarda Alba at the Gate Theatre.

Orla picked up sticks and moved to London where she took on professional work in theatre, television, and film. Orla moved to Los Angeles and worked on series television and films such as “Family Law”, “Shark”, “Fringe”, “Into the Badlands” and “American Horror Story: 1984”.

As far as film career, Orla has appeared in movies such as “The Price of Desire” (2015), “Mistress of Spices” (2005), “A Love Divided” (1999), and “Fratricide” (1997), among others.

The 5’4″ beauty’s talent extends to the theater as well. She has performed at the famous Gate Theatre, Dublin, and in numerous stage productions, including Shakespearean plays and contemporary works.

On television, she has filled prominent shoes in several series. One of her notable roles was playing Elizabeth Bishop in the TV series “Mistresses” (2008-2010). Brady also portrayed Dr. Siobhan O’Donnell in the British medical drama “Holby City” (2005-2006) and appeared as Claire Stark in the American thriller series “Fringe” (2009-2010). Additionally, she played the character of Tasha Lem in the popular British sci-fi series “Doctor Who” (2012) and most recently appeared in “Star Trek: Picard” as Laris.

Ms. Brady married photographer Nick Brandt in 2002 and when she isn’t filming, she likes horseback riding, and reading, and has a great love of animals. Brady now lives life with her husband in Southern California where she enjoys an occasional tipple.
