Katie McGrath

Born on October 3, 1983, actress Katie McGrath is from Ashford, County Wicklow, Ireland. She gained recognition for her strikingly unique roles in both television and film.

Katie was born to Mary McGrath (mother) and Paul McGrath (father). Her mother is a designer while her father works with computers along with her two brothers Sean and Rory. Ms. McGrath went on to attended St. Andrew’s College in Dublin studying the International Baccalaureate there. Following that, she enrolled at Trinity College, in Dublin where she earned a degree in history with a focus on Russian history.

McGrath’s acting career began with her portrayal as Morgana Pendragon in the TV series “Merlin,” which aired from 2008 to 2012. Her portrayal of the complex character earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Katie also had a high visibility role as the schemer and social climber “Bess” in the tv series The Tudors in 2008.

She went on to appear in several other popular television series, including “Dracula,” “Slasher,” and “Frontier.” McGrath also had a recurring role as Lena Luthor in the superhero series “Supergirl,” which further solidified her presence in the industry.
