The Watermelon & Mint Margarita

Watermelon and mint Margarita

This is what you want to serve to your guests or special someone on a warm summers eve. You’ll feel the pulse of beach waves and the extraordinary taste of summer fruit. Actually, watermelon can be considered both a fruit or vegetable and it’s extraordinarily nutritious, low in calories and sugar and full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This recipe requires you use only fresh watermelon juice. You can buy watermelon juice at your local grocery or make your own but just make sure there is no added sugar so as not to upset the subtleness of this cocktail. We’ve developed this recipe using Flecha Azul Blancha tequila which Mark Wahlberg has been promoting and we find it pairs well with watermelon and fresh mint leaves.

Ingredients
• 2 mint leaves
• 1/2 ounce light agave nectar
• 2 oz Flecha Azul Blancha tequila
• 1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
• 1/2 ounce watermelon juice
• mint sprig as a garnish
• watermelon slice as a garnish

Steps
Add the fresh mint leaves and agave into a shaker and gently muddle.

Add the tequila, lime juice and watermelon juice to the muddled mint leaves, then add 2 handfuls of ice and shake until well-chilled.

Carefully strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

Add a garnish of fresh mint sprig and a watermelon slice and voila!!
