Drumshanbo Gin & Tonic
You guessed right! Gin and tonic is a classic cocktail made with gin and tonic water, usually served over ice and garnished with a wedge of lime. The drink originated in the 19th century, when the British began adding quinine to their tonic water to prevent malaria. This led to the creation of the gin and tonic, which was a popular drink among British colonials in India and other tropical regions.
Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is an oriental-inspired spirit from The Shed Distillery in Co Leitrim, Ireland. The distillery was built by Pat Rigney, who created a pioneering method for artisan distilleries in Ireland. Far away from mass production, he relies on small batches and the joy of experimenting on a copper still. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, impresses not only with exotic and unusual botanicals, but also with his cross-over character, which combines spice, astringency and classics.
Gunpowder Tea is so called because each signature botanicals tea leaf has been rolled into a small ball , slowly dried, and it looks like grains of gunpowder. The recipe also includes lime, lemon and grapefruit. It’s usually made with green tea leaves and it’s that special ingredient that gives the famous Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin its name.
